Donna Burrage, BSc OT, CHT

Donna graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Occupational Therapy from the University of British Columbia and went on to further specialize in hand therapy. Since earning her Hand Therapy Certification, she has practiced in the field for more than 20 years. In addition to her role as Director of Pinewood Hand Therapy she teaches as a clinical instructor at the University of British Columbia on a sessional basis. She has worked in a range of clinical settings including Children’s Hospital and with Fraser Health. She is a registered member of the College of Occupational Therapy B.C., a member of the Canadian Hand Therapy Association, and has previously been on the executive of the West Coast Hand Therapy Association.

Kavitha Arasu, PT, MSc PT, CHT

Kavitha completed her undergraduate degree in Physiotherapy in India and began to work in a number of different health settings. She then moved to the UK to complete her Masters in Physiotherapy. With experience ranging from pediatrics to musculoskeletal injury rehab for over eight years, Kavitha became a Certified Hand Therapist after moving to Canada. She has been at Pinewood since 2017 and values working as part of a collaborative team. She enjoys helping patients through the full process of recovery, from acute injury to return to full function.

 

Maritess Tolentino, BSc OT, CHT

Maritess enjoys working with people of all ages providing quality care customized for every patient. Maritess completed her Bachelors of Science in Occupational Therapy at Dalhousie University and her Hand Therapy Certification in 2003. At Pinewood, she currently provides hand therapy to individuals with various types of musculoskeletal injuries ranging from repetitive strain, sports injuries, traumatic hand injuries, and osteoarthritis. In her free time, Maritess likes to stay active by either cycling, running, swimming, or cross country skiing.

Natalie Lavie, BPT, CHT

Natalie graduated with a Bachelors in Physiotherapy in 2000. Working for 10 years as a Registered Physiotherapist in various settings, Natalie gained a broad knowledge and depth of experience. Following her growing passion and fascination for hands, she began to focus on upper extremity rehabilitation. After working exclusively with hands for two years, she completed all requirements, successfully took her exam, and became a Certified Hand Therapist in 2012. She is a member of the Canadian Hand Therapy Association, and registered with the College of Physiotherapists.

 

Monica Yorke, BSc Kin

Monica graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelors in Kinesiology. Her previous experience includes working in industry and for Fraser Health as a Disability Management Consultant performing physical demands analysis and managing injury claims. She is a member of the BC Association of Kinesiologists. At Pinewood, Monica performs job site visits and coordinates return to work planning.

Georgia Sawatzky, BHKin

Georgia graduated from Trinity Western University with a Bachelors of Human Kinetics degree with Honors in 2021. Since graduating, Georgia has gained experience as a Kinesiologist in a clinical setting, teaching older adult fitness classes and working as a Behavioural Interventionist for individuals on the Autism spectrum. Joining the team at Pinewood in 2022, she has visited a large variety of job sites to document critical job demands. She is a valued member of our team, helping to ensure the return to work process for our clients is safe and sustainable. 

 

Grace Tercero

Grace's friendly voice at the end of the phone will help to guide you through your hand therapy journey. She manages all things administrative for the clinic. Her sunny disposition lights up the clinic and allows her to share her passion for helping others. Grace graduated from Simon Fraser University with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology.

While not at work, she is an avid traveler, enjoying to explore faraway places.
